In Their Own Words

Testimonials

Real journeys from the young women who make Mission Queens Girl Up Ghana what it is.

A

Anastasia

Leadership Development

“It was slow, beautiful and intentional — like a seed finding its way through soil. I grew through conversations that opened my mind and a sisterhood that held me when I needed it most.”

S

Sandra

Leadership Development

“MQGU challenged me to do things I initially dreaded. After one year, I was appointed Head of People and Culture. This is the place to grow, to be empowered, and to give back.”

AD

Annabel Dompey

Community Outreach

“Being part of a club dedicated to uplifting the girl child affirmed that change is possible — and that I can be a living example of it.”

A

Anastasia

Ghana Mobile STEM Bootcamp

“I helped organise STEM Boot Camps that quietly told girls: what society labels 'impossible' is often just unexplored potential. Seeing their faces light up — that is why we do this.”

J

Janet

SRHR Education & Advocacy

“Advocacy is not about speaking louder — it is about speaking truth with evidence and empathy. Mission Queens taught me that, and I carry it everywhere.”

V

Vera

Leadership Development

“I doubted myself when they asked me to lead. But the club's leaders saw potential in me that I could not see in myself. That changed everything.”

J

Janet

Community Outreach

“When girls are given opportunities, they don't just rise — they lift entire communities with them. I am honoured to be part of that rise.”

A

Anastasia

Leadership Development

“Five years ago I walked into a room and did not know I was walking into one of the defining moments of my life. This club did not just give me skills — it gave me a voice, a vision, and a village.”
